River East Collegiate has been a part of UNESCO since 2004.REC raised 14,000 dollars for Free the Children to build a school in Sierra Leone.Thousand of dollars have been raised in Film Festivals here at the school for Free the ChildrenRiver East also had a day of silence to support children who have no voice and are forced to be child soldiers
River East Collegiate was the first school in Manitoba to be a part of UNESCO.The main goal is to raise awareness about what is happening locally and globally.
